Public exhibition

Bathurst and surrounding communities are invited to attend community information sessions to view and provide feedback on the Bathurst Hospital Redevelopment planning documentation, with the Review of Environmental Factors (REF) on public exhibition from 9.00am, on Friday 21 February 2025.

The NSW Government is investing $200 million in the Bathurst Hospital Redevelopment to provide patients, staff and, carers with access to modern health facilities and expanded healthcare services to meet the healthcare needs of the Central West region now and into the future. The redevelopment will also deliver additional parking in and around the hospital campus.

The REF hospital designs have been shaped by extensive community and stakeholder consultation and feedback received throughout planning for the redevelopment.

The redevelopment will include an expanded emergency department and maternity services alongside a new modern non-acute mental health inpatient unit (Panorama Clinic). It is also expected to include improvements to inpatient, outpatient and community health services, operating theatres, cardiology services and a new paediatrics zone.

More than 70 additional car parking spaces are planned to be delivered onsite and in the surrounding streets to support the redevelopment. This includes 46 additional parking spaces at key locations on the campus providing a significant boost to the existing 306 car spaces for staff, patients and visitors. This will support improved access to the new hospital main entry on Mitre Street and the existing hospital entry on Howick Street.

The hospital’s design has a strong connection to Country, reflecting the local Wiradjuri Country including the river, land, woodlands and sky. Light-filled spaces and improved connectivity to Victoria Park will create a welcoming environment for patients, visitors and staff.
